Episodic and at times deceptively simple, Eric Rohmer's comedy focuses on the friendship between two very different French girls, Paris-born Mirabelle (Jessica Forde) and farm lass Reinette (Joëlle Miquel). Meeting during Mirabelle's country vacation, the pair becomes roommates while attending university together in Paris, encountering a number of colorful locals.
