I'm Yours

One of the finest and most influential 1950's era vocal groups in pop music history, The Flamingos sophisticated vocal style would later impact the Motown sound of the 1960's and the Philly Soul sound of the 1970's. Founded by Baltimore natives Jake and Zeke Carey, The Flamingos formed in Chicago in the early 1950's. Featured here are two of their highly sought after tracks recorded for the Parrot label in 1954. On "Ko Ko Mo" and the ballad, "I'm Yours," the group is accompanied by Red Holloway (tenor sax), with Horace Palm (piano and organ), Quinn Wilson (bass), and Paul Gusman (drums). Newly re-mastered.
