Everyone in Portage thought Emma Schultz was sweet, beautiful--and harmless. They were wrong.

When a beloved small-town bookkeeper turns out to be the mastermind behind a chilling series of murders and millions in embezzled funds, defense attorney Mike Jorgenson is thrust into a case that shatters every assumption. Emma's Demise picks up the trail of corruption, betrayal, and heartbreak where Roger Skrypczak's previous novels left off--reuniting familiar characters for another page-turning legal mystery set in rural Wisconsin.

As Mike and his unlikely allies--including a tenacious assistant DA, an old-school reporter, and a savvy office manager--chase leads across the Midwest and beyond, they uncover a tangled web of lies that could bring down the entire Schultz family legacy. But catching Emma won't be easy. She's beautiful, brilliant, and possibly gone for good.

Full of courtroom drama, emotional twists, and sharp humor, Emma's Demise is a gripping standalone novel that also delivers the satisfying continuation fans of Tatum's Alibi and Never Doubt Nadine have been waiting for.

Roger's deep connection to rural Wisconsin stems from his upbringing in a small northern village and a lifelong appreciation for nature and storytelling. After serving in the U.S. Army and marrying his wife, Elizabeth, while stationed in New York City, he earned a B.S. from Northland College in Ashland, WI. Over a 25-year career in sales and marketing, Roger founded and sold three successful businesses before turning his creative energy toward writing.

He began by publishing human-interest articles in Badger Sportsman Magazine, later expanding into fiction. Roger is the author of two published novels--Never Doubt Nadine and Tatum's Alibi--with a third, Emma's Demise, forthcoming in 2025. He has also written numerous short stories and plans to release a collection in the future.

Now living in Appleton, Wisconsin, Roger takes great pride in his writing career--so much so that he insists his obituary include the title "author." He and Elizabeth have raised two children and delight in their four grandchildren
