masculating Warriors, a Nation at War with its Warriors, is a book that directs attention to an issue our nation is having with those it sends to war. The idea behind the title is not to be taken literally, nor is it meant to say that there are only male warriors. It is also not intended to mean that our nation is in some actual and deliberate battle with those we send to war. The title is a provocative way of calling attention to the fact that research has clearly identified that veterans of war suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and depression, that they have had a 41% higher suicide risk than the general U.S. population (U.S. Dept. V.A.), and that many struggle with marriage, drug and alcohol abuse, homelessness, incarceration and other such things. Given these things and others to be seen in the book, it is time to recognize that something is not right in terms of how veterans are responding to involvement in war. This work addresses the matter by exposing underlying issues that corrupt combatants and by providing insight into how we can avoid repeating all of this in subsequent conflicts.

U.S, Navy Captain Dwight Horn is a Chaplain who has served with the U.S. Marine Corps in combat situations, specifically The Battle of Fallujah in the Iraq War, During this time he came to realize that the American Military is made up of different types of individuals. During this time he came to know the warrior type who, unlike others in the military, exults in mortal combat. Those individuals and the price the wounded pay to serve those at home, has influenced his perspective.
