THE ULTIMATE WINTER THRILLER FROM THE QUEEN OF CRIME.
A séance. A snowbound village. A dead body.
A snowstorm has left the remote English village of Sittaford almost completely cut off from the outside world. To pass the time, Mrs. Willett and her guests hold an impromptu séance. What begins as a harmless game takes a chilling turn when the table announces that Captain Trevelyan has been murdered. With the roads blocked by snow, Major Burnaby undertakes the long and dangerous journey to his friend's house, where he finds the captain's body exactly as the spirits predicted.
When the police accuse the victim's nephew, his fiancée, the resourceful Emily Trefusis, takes charge of the investigation and discovers that nothing is quite what it seems in this small village.
