Raised in Tucson, Arizona, Melissa Leon is a wife, mother of three young children, twenty-plus-year finance professional, and self-proclaimed Efficiency Bitch.
After attending Northern Arizona University and earning her bachelor's degree in hotel restaurant management, she began a seventeen-year career in luxury hospitality. During that time, she lived in Sedona and Scottsdale, Arizona; Kihei, Hawaii; Miami, Florida; Thousand Oaks, California, and finally settled back in Arizona. While working full-time, Melissa completed her master's degree in business administration (MBA) from Aspen University and her project management professional certification (PMP).
Melissa had a unique opportunity to spend ten years in operations finance and seven years in corporate finance managing global projects. She's traveled all over the world, including India, China, Japan, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, England, and Singapore. She's made new friends everywhere who have inspired and taught her what life is all about-people!
During the COVID-19 crisis, Melissa made the bold decision to leave her hospitality career. She and her longtime friend and colleague opened a fractional CFO and bookkeeping business called Two Sense Consulting. From there, Melissa launched the Efficiency Bitch Podcast and began writing her first book. Melissa has been recognized by KNOW as one of the 40 Over 40 Women to KNOW in America in 2022. She sits on two non-profit advisory boards and mentors young women in search of great careers.
