Paul Hodson was writing short stories by the time he was ten years old and has continued ever since. Paul originally thought that engineering might be a good career option, but found he spent more time fixing the computers. It didn't take long for him to realise that he would rather be digging up Saxon or Viking gold, or Celtic stone heads; so he went back to university to study Archaeology, Classics and Ancient History. All the while still finding time to write short stories and novellas. Given there isn't much consistent income in sitting in a muddy field with a trowel Paul decided to write about his favourite topic. Having been diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 20, and then spending 12 months in bed, this seemed the ideal opportunity to combine both aspects into one story. He lives in the rural idyll of West Lancashire with his wife and two dogs. The brain tumour was 27 years ago. He won.
