While serving as nurses in a remote village, twins Lillian and Lisa learn their grandmother has died under mysterious circumstances. Arriving home weeks after the funeral, they discover their younger sister, Meg, has just helped solve a nefarious plot responsible for the elderly woman's death.

But that's not even the crazy part. Apparently, Grams helped solve her own murder, having materialized from "the other side" to give Meg a hand.

Now Grams is hanging around with a quirky host of dearly departed relatives and friends, and they've noticed something strange: the girls' other grandmother, Willowmina Garrison, presumed dead for ten years, has never been spotted on "the other side."
