Big Bands Swingin Years: Tommy Dorsey

One of the greatest bandleaders of the big band era, trombonist and trumpeter Tommy Dorsey was known as "The Sentimental Gentleman of Swing", due to his smooth-toned trombone playing. The younger brother of bandleader Jimmy Dorsey, Dorsey split from his brother in the mid thirties, and led an extremely popular band from the late thirties into the nineteen fifties. Presented here are some of Dorsey's finest recorded performances including "Marie," "Somebody Stole My Gal" and "Sweet Sue, Just You." All selections newly remastered.
