After earning their university degrees, they settled in the town of Hatfield, Massachusetts, where they have lived for almost five decades. Cher chose an engineering career that sent her to various locations across the United States and the world. In between, she raised a family, obtained a PhD in Engineering, and spent her spare time with her true passion, American history. This love of history and of her town inspired her to write this book."
