THAT UNEASY FEELING MAY NOT BE FEAR
It may be discernment trying to get your attention.
Not everything that looks spiritual is from God. Not every powerful atmosphere is the Holy Spirit. Not every leader carrying a Bible is safe to follow. Not every open door is an assignment. And not every battle in your life is just "stress," "drama," or "a difficult season."
Sometimes deception looks anointed.
Sometimes manipulation sounds biblical.
Sometimes the enemy studies your patterns long before you recognize his strategy.
Discerning the Demonic is a bold, practical guide for Christians who need more than hype, emotion, and vague spiritual language. This is a book for believers who want to know what is really happening before confusion becomes bondage, before compromise becomes normal, before false teaching takes root, and before the enemy gains access to their life, family, church, or calling.
Alexander Pagani does not write about spiritual warfare from a distance. He brings the urgency of a deliverance minister, the clarity of a teacher, and the conviction of a man who believes the church cannot afford to stay spiritually naïve.
This is not another book about seeing demons everywhere.
It is a call to recover biblical discernment.
Using the wisdom of Proverbs, Pagani reveals the seven pillars that strengthen mature spiritual discernment: common sense, insight, knowledge, discernment, success, strength, and good judgment. These pillars help believers test the spirits, recognize demonic deception, reject emotional Christianity, identify false teaching, and walk in the fear of the Lord with clarity and conviction.
Read this book when you need to:
- Recognize red flags you have been explaining away
- Discern what is from God and what is emotional, manipulative, counterfeit, or demonic
- Stop being spiritually naïve in relationships, ministry, church culture, and daily decisions
- Understand how demons exploit ignorance, compromise, patterns, and open doors
- Identify false teaching, cultish church behavior, unhealthy loyalty, and spiritual control
- Learn why the fear of the Lord is the beginning of all true discernment
- Build a stronger home by understanding the spiritual weight of your words
- Recover good judgment in an age of noise, hype, digital deception, and spiritual confusion
Inside, Pagani confronts the places where many believers are most vulnerable: emotionalism, sensationalism, lack of accountability, ignorance of Scripture, polluted spiritual tables, the misuse of authority, the Jezebel spirit, false churches, digital deception, and the words spoken over a family.
He also asks the harder question:
- What if the enemy does not need to destroy your faith all at once?
- What if he only needs to dull your discernment?
A little compromise. A little confusion. A little spiritual laziness. A little tolerance for what God calls unclean. A little refusal to listen when the Holy Spirit is waving a red flag.
That is how deception gets comfortable.
And that is why discernment must be restored.
THE ENEMY IS COUNTING ON AN UNDISCERNING CHURCH.
This book will help you become the kind of believer he cannot easily fool.
Alexander Pagani dropped out of high school in the South Bronx, joined a gang, and served a three-to-nine-year sentence in prison. He came to faith behind bars, earned his GED in a prison program, and entered ministry in 1995, the same year he was released. He planted a church in 2007 with seventeen people meeting in a living room in the Bronx; by 2015, the congregation had grown enough to rebuild an abandoned nightclub into a building. In 2026, he and his wife Ibelize relocated to the Atlanta area to launch Amazing Church Global -- a transition he describes in this book without softening the difficulty of it, which is consistent with how he writes about everything else.
He has conducted more than four hundred documented deliverance sessions, has taught at Princeton University, and has appeared on TBN and The Word Network. His four previous books -- The Secrets to Deliverance, The Secrets to Generational Curses, The Secrets to Maintaining Your Deliverance, and Manipulated: The Ten Toxic Traits of Legalism -- moved progressively from the mechanics of individual deliverance to the conditions that make deliverance necessary. This book is where that progression lands: not how to cast out a demon, but how to build a life that is not structurally vulnerable to the thing that invited it in.
His oldest son, Apollos, is an ordained pastor now running the ministry's overseas work. His youngest son, Xavier, works in media production for the ministry. The chapter in this book about the power of words in a family was written by someone who made deliberate, daily decisions about the atmosphere in his home and watched those decisions produce something over twenty years that he considers worth writing about.
