We live in uncertainty, "between earth and sky ever- / cycling despair and hope." Despite - or because of - this foreboding, Moore seeks to view the natural world in and of itself, beyond its relationship to humans. This work conceives a realm in which distinctions between animate and inanimate diminish and the boundary between physical and spiritual dissolves.

Moore, Katrinka: - Katrinka Moore started out in dance and choreography, made a brief foray into performance art, then shifted to poetry, eventually bringing visual components into her work. She is the author of four previous books, Numa, Thief, This is Not a Story (winner of the New Women's Voices Prize), and Wayfarers. Moore grew up in rural Texas and now lives in New York.
