Seventeen-year-old Myla feels the land in her blood and bones. Prince Beran burns with a need for revenge. And forest-born Kaven will do anything to protect the girl he loves.

Like all Westreachers, Myla is bound to the green world through ancient, forest-made tombs. So when she finds she can open the long-sealed barrows, she's thrilled by her gift... until her father demands she use it to fuel rebellion against the king. Myla would rather focus on herbcraft and spend time with Kaven, whose family is hip-deep in debt and cutting deals that the forest can't forgive.

Sent to secure his claim as royal heir, Beran arrives in the Westreach only to see the guard he loves like a father murdered. Stone royal duty, because grieving Beran wants revenge, and he's willing to make enemies to get it.

Thrown together as fosterlings under one roof, Myla, Beran, and Kaven must choose between loyalty, power, and truth... before the forest itself demands a price none of them are ready to pay.
