Death Note is a manga, not a prop: this is the whole series by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, all 12 volumes printed as one thick paperback.
Light Yagami, a bored top student, finds a notebook that kills anyone whose name goes in it and sets out to purge the world of criminals, until the detective L starts closing in.
Handling the brick
Amazon reviewers like having the full story in one book, though some find it awkward to hold for long reading sessions.
From the publisher
All 12 volumes of Death Note in one monstrously large edition! Light Yagami is an ace student with great prospects--and he's bored out of his mind. But all that changes when he finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies, and now Light has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil.
But when criminals begin dropping dead, the authorities send the legendary detective L to track down the killer. With L hot on his heels, will Light lose sight of his noble goal...or his life?
All 12 volumes of Death Note in one monstrously large edition!
He went on to illustrate the smash hit Death Note as well as the hugely successful manga Bakuman, All You Need Is Kill, and Platinum End.
