Intrepid golf reporter Pete Hacker agrees to cover an LPGA event as a favor to an old friend, but when he arrives in Miami, he finds an organization that appears to be run as the private fiefdom of Wynnona "Big Win" Stilwell, one of the tour's fading stars. Digging into the story, Hacker begins to uncover some of Big Wyn's secret dealings. And that's when the trouble starts. Hacker's friend is beaten and the tour commissioner is found dead of an apparent suicide.
