About the Author
Kenley, Holli: - Holli Kenley is a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a California State Licensed Teacher. She holds a Master's Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling. She has worked in a variety of settings: a women's shelter, a counseling center, and in private practice. Counseling with adolescents, teens, and adults, Holli's areas of specialized training and experience include sexual trauma, abuse, addiction, codependency, domestic violence, betrayal and cyber bullying. Holli is the author of seven recovery books including Breaking Through Betrayal: And Recovering the Peace Within (2010); cyber bullying no more: Parenting a High Tech Generation (2011); and her powerful memoir Mountain Air: Relapsing and Finding The Way Back...One Breath at a Time (2013). Her first novel Another Way (2015) offers tweens to teens (and their parents/ guardians) an empowering message of discovering, defining, and determining self- worth. In her Second Edition of Breaking Through Betrayal (January 2016), Holli addresses relapse as an issue of self-betrayal with a healing process for self-discovery. In her recently released book Power Down & Parent Up: Cyber Bullying, Screen Dependence, &Raising Tech-Healthy Children (2017), Holli provides parents and guardians with a roadmap for navigating our tech-driven world. She is also Contributing Wellness Editor for Clear Life Magazine. Holli Kenley, M.A., MFT, currently works in the field of psychology as an author, speaker, and workshop presenter. Through her gentle but powerful informative and restorative approach, Holli engages clinical and lay audiences, empowering them with strategies to embrace well and whole ways of being. She has been a five time peer presenter at the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists' Annual State Conferences and a featured or keynote speaker at college level clinical programs, state and national advocacy organizations, and educational institutions speaking on the topics of cyber bullying, the power of self-worth, betrayal, relapse, and sexual abuse recovery. Holli has been a guest on over 100 podcasts and numerous TV shows speaking on issues of wellness. Prior to and during her career as a therapist, Holli taught for thirty years in public education. As an advocate of all forms of abuse and trauma, Holli supports and participates in community activism with numerous organizations: Stand for the Silent; RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network); the It's On Us Movement; and the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI), an international organization working to make the online world safer for kids and their families. Although Holli enjoys living in the mountains and breathing in the peace and beauty around her, her mission is an integral part of her being: Wellness awaits each of us. We choose the time. And yet I know from my own recovering journey that although choosing wellness is the first critical step, it is only the beginning.
