Fired, cancelled, bereaved...
Forsaken, sick, and penniless...
Kanzō Uchimura stood fast for his Christian values, but at great cost to himself and his family. After pouring out his suffering and pain in ink, brush, and paper, he captured the minds and hearts of many with a Japanese understanding of the Bible. This came during a time when Christian literature in Japan consisted solely of translated Western authors. His little book instantly became a bestseller and launched his career as a writer.
Never before translated into English, Uchimura's sighs, cries, and prayers speak to any suffering soul with the consolation and peace offered by the God of the Bible.
