As America was still struggling with the Depression, recently widowed William Kamp (Brian Krause) was similarly challenged to hold things together for his brood of five kids. When the holidays came upon them, he presented the children with the dollar of change he scraped together-and the task of getting one another meaningful gifts-which brought them all to understand the true meaning of the season.
