Katie has lived with her grandmother, Gramby, for as long as she can remember, And for as long as she can remember, they have baked Christmas cookies every time they needed them: to celebrate (birthdays or holidays or just for an A on an important test); or to cheer themselves up ( like when Gramby fell and broke her ankle at the skating rink with Katie, and they even made cookies with chocolate chip chicken pox when they were going around school and Katie came home with chicken pox "bumps".)
