Ebenezer Scrooge is a wealthy, miserly curmudgeon who lives alone, keeps to himself, and spends his days counting his money. He has no friends or family, hates Christmas, and refuses to donate money to the needy. Scrooge was not always so crotchety, however. As a young man, he had friends, family, and a fiancée.
