Step It Up! Is state of the art zydeco from a masterful performer. Chenier flavors the Red Hot Louisiana Band's double-kick bayou beat with elements of funk, blues and ballads, as well as turning it loose on more traditional zydeco material. The resulting record is loaded with irresistible dance grooves. C.J. contributed six originals to the record and he infuses all tracks with strong, soulful singing and skillful accordion playing.
