Cathay (1915) - Hardcover

Cathay is a collection of poems by the American poet Ezra Pound, first published in 1915. The book contains translations of Chinese poems, most of which were originally written by Li Po and Tu Fu, two of the most famous poets of the Tang Dynasty. Pound's translations are known for their innovative style, which combines elements of classical Chinese poetry with modernist techniques such as free verse and imagism. The poems in Cathay are celebrated for their vivid imagery, musicality, and emotional depth. They deal with themes such as love, nature, war, and the transience of life. Cathay is considered a landmark in the history of English-language poetry and a key work in the development of modernist literature. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
