A hilarious collection of short stories about the authors misadventures fishing and hunting in the midwestern United States spanning the 1980's to the present. These stories are based on real life events, but the author indulges in various side stories and embellishes the truth occasionally for humorous effect in the tradition of the American tall tale. Half the fun of reading these stories is trying to tell when the author is sticking to the facts, and when he is pulling your leg!

Arndt, Kirk: - Kirk Arndt lives in Willmar, Minnesota, with his daughter and dog. He is a lifelong jester, outdoor sports enthusiast, and resident of the Midwest. He has been writing short stories about his hunting and fishing trips to read aloud to friends and family around the campfire for over 20 years. They have grown to an intolerable volume, and hence, like kittens, they must be foisted off onto unsuspecting victims such as yourself!Ever since reading Mark Twain's On the Decay of the Art of Lying, Kirk has been endeavoring to improve himself in this regard, at least in his humorous writing! Although his stories are based on real life misadventures, in the tradition of the American tall tale, they occasionally slip into the realm of embellishment. Half the fun of reading these stories is trying to guess when the author is pulling your leg! When he is not stalking wild mushrooms or fly fishing for carp, Kirk indulges in other small-boy passions, such as forging knives and building bows and arrows. To fund these activities, he labors as a Licensed Behavior Analyst, fondly remembering the good old days when, as an at-risk youth counselor, and he connived a way to make a spindly living by addicting naughty teens into staying out of trouble by teaching them how to fish and shoot the bow and arrow!
