D. Terman was educated at Cornell and Columbia Universities, then flew in Air Force night interceptor and bomber squadrons, and went on to become a missile launch crew commander. In 1963 he sailed his schooner to the West Indies, and for the next twelve years cruised extensively in European and Caribbean waters. Mr. Terman moved to the Green Mountains of Vermont and worked as a novelist for many years. He made this early contribution to the Choose Your Own Adventure series and also penned novels of political intrigue and adventure for adults, including First Strike, Free Flight, Shell Game, Cormorant, and several others.
