Description
The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abra-Melin is a grimoire, or magical text, written by an unknown author in the 15th century. It was later translated and edited by S.L. MacGregor Mathers, a prominent member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, in the late 19th century. The book contains instructions and rituals for summoning and communicating with angels and demons, as well as techniques for achieving personal enlightenment and spiritual transformation. The central focus of the book is the Abra-Melin operation, a complex ritual that involves months of preparation and meditation in order to gain control over one's own spiritual and magical powers. The book has been influential in the development of modern occultism and is considered a classic of Western esoteric literature. This rare and unique manuscript, from which the present work is translated, is a French translation from the original Hebrew of Abraham the Jew. I know of no other existing copy or replica of this in the British Museum whose enormous collection of manuscripts I have thoroughly studied. A fascinating book concerning Nicholas Flamel and his success with the Philosopher's Stone. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
