This dramatic study of the restlessness experienced by "Generation X"ers involves TV salesman Nick (Tim Roth) and his girlfriend Beth (Bridget Fonda), a young couple living in a small Arizona town. Nick wants them both to move to Butte, Montana, but when he unexpectedly heads there by himself, Beth takes up with handsome, philosophical house painter Sid (Eric Stoltz).
