Bitter Sweet

A Romantic British Musical adapted from Noel Coward's operetta of the same name. It's a story about a young girl (Anna Neagle) who falls in love with a young music teacher (Fernand Gravey). They run off to Vienna where he struggles to make a living. They are offered jobs in a cafe where he leads the orchestra and she sings and they hope to save their money and open a cafe of their own. At the cafe she catches the eye of an army captain who makes advances toward her. She resists but as the situation escalates her husband is killed by the soldier.
