Her cookbook, "The Soul of California - Cooking for the Holidays," features her own California Soul recipes for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and Super Bowl Sunday, including scrumptious California-style black-eyed peas, smoked turkey, baked ribs, and sweet potato pie.A steamfunk novel is still simmering on the back burner. This alternate history of California and the United States features events in the mid-1800s in the independent state of Califa, a member of the vast African empire that flourished after the Moors defeated the last remnants of Isabella's and Ferdinand's armies in Spain. In the next pot over on the back of the creative stove, a four-book urban fantasy series is also simmering. Still no vampires or zombies, though there are ghosts and magic and the Fae.
