Su personaje y relatos más conocidos son los de Chigüiro --un entrañable capibara--, así como otros libros como ¡No, no fui yo!, Tengo miedo, Supongamos y El señor José Tomillo, que le han valido varios premios internacionales. En 1999, Ivar Da Coll fue nominado al Premio Hans Christian Andersen en la categoría de ilustración, representando a Colombia. Ivar ama a los animales y la naturaleza, y tiene una perrita adoptada llamada Doris. También disfruta leer novelas y libros sobre arte.
Ivar Da Coll is an acclaimed author-illustrator born in Bogotá, Colombia, to an Italian father and a mother of Swedish descent. He's been writing and illustrating children's books for more than forty years, and drawing is what makes him happy. His best-known character and stories are those of Chigüiro--an endearing capybara--as well as other books such as ¡No, no fuiyo!, Tengo miedo, Supongamos, and El señor José tomillo which have earned him several international awards. In 1999, Ivar Da Coll was nominated to the Hans Christian Andersen Award for illustration, representing Colombia. Ivar loves animals and nature and has an adopted dog named Doris. He also enjoys reading novels and books about art.
