What do you do when you work in an environment where uniformity is the norm, but you happen to see another way?
When you want to belong, but you sometimes step away on purpose to gain perspective?
In Armed with Sensitivity, Lieutenant-General Elanor Boekholt-O'Sullivan shares her adventures in leadership, management, and organisational and social transformation with an open heart and a healthy dose of self-deprecation. Not as a hero or a role model, but as a human being.
She writes vividly about missions in Afghanistan, leading in a men's world, the price of visibility, and the power of being an outsider. Above all, this book is about making space - for yourself and for others.
This is no manual for becoming a perfect leader, but a plea for realness: for humanity, vulnerability, and humour as a force for change. With sharp observations, philosophical questions, and light-hearted anecdotes, Boekholt-O'Sullivan shows that leadership is not about bravado or titles, but about what you do when no one is watching.
