Apples: I Didn't Want to Die. I Just Didn't Know How to Live. - Paperback

It nearly cost me everything to understand that my grandfather had been holding out food the whole time. Six ordinary words - he called them APPLES - offered to me again and again while I slapped his hand away, certain I knew better.

This book has two authors. One of them has been gone since 2015.

One half was written by a titan of American business - a Franchise Hall of Fame legend who stood beside names like Ray Kroc and Dave Thomas, and who quietly built those six principles into a framework for living. His original manuscript is preserved here exactly as he wrote it.

The other half was written by his grandson, who was handed all of it early, threw it away, and lost himself so completely he ended up at the lowest place a person can reach - certain his story was over.

It wasn't.

If you picked this up, some part of you is looking for a way forward. Maybe you're stuck. Maybe you're starving in a way you can't quite name. Maybe you just feel there's more for you than the life you're living right now.

This is for you. Not a lecture, and not written from above you - one person who came back from the edge, reaching a hand down to the next. His grandfather's wisdom. His own scars. And six ordinary principles that turned out to be the difference between the end of a story and the rest of a life.

The climb isn't easy. But I promise you - it's worth it.
