Nikki Ness is the pseudnym of Anniken Bjornes. She was born in 1972 and grew up in the countryside in Steinkjer, Norway. During high school, she spent one year as an exchange student in Topeka, Kansas, USA. Since then, she has worked as a teacher in Trondheim and Oslo, before she moved back to Steinkjer in 2003. She lives there with her man and two small boys, works as a high-school librarian, and writes fiction for children and teenagers. She has studied to be an author of books for children and teenagers at The Norwegian Institute for Children's Books. In 2010, she debuted with her book Sommerengel, Angelfly, with Omnipax Publishing. In 2012, she published a picture book for children called Ballongjegeren, The Balloon Hunter, with Magikon Publishing, illustrated by Mari Kanstad Johnsen. She is now working on the second book about Gabriella, and is planning to write another two in the same series. Besides these, she is also working on several other book ideas.
