Desperate times call for desperate measures.
A century of conflict has consequences for people and places. Whilst a fragile peace between the Angels of the Seventh Flight and the vampiric Succae endures, time is running out on the world they share. When a catastrophic event proves Cerule is close to destruction, outcast Angel Azshael finds himself appointed to lead an unprecedented mission to prevent an apocalypse. The world's unique biosphere is dying, and former enemies must work together in a race against time to reverse the decline. Four Loci-focuses for the dark energy of the Necrene Well-must be reactivated and realigned. It's a hazardous mission across a dying world, where deadly guardians and untold challenges await. From a necromancer's citadel hidden beneath the shifting sands of a barren desert to a sunken tomb in the frozen Arctic; from a jungle island alive with mutated life to an abandoned Flight fortress guarded by powerful Angelic weapons, the task is challenging enough, but the ruthless ambition of an Angelic enemy within means Azshael will need to keep his friends close and his enemies closer. It's a descent into danger that will reveal hidden truths and test belief in the true nature of the Seventh Flight's purpose. As deception, danger and murderous intrigue abound, Azshael will need to draw on all his wits and resources to reach Horizon-the source of the Well and the seat of the mysterious Blood Goddess Sangaea-alive. Desperate times will indeed call for desperate measures.
When it became apparent to me that 'Sorcerer to the Queen' and 'Knight Errant' were no longer valid career paths I worked my way through 37 other jobs before arriving at writer.
Along the way I looked after seals and bears at London Zoo, taught small children how to stay on a horse, wrote competition scripts for radio stations and told tall tales to anyone who would listen. I now live outside London, with the sort of book and music collection guaranteed to ensure the neighbours never stay long for coffee.
