Deslee Campbell's illustrated book, Ancient Ephesus and Earliest Christianity, deals with the fabric of that part of the now-uninhabited city which has so far been excavated, mainly the monuments of the centre of the city. It also considers its culture in the 1st century A.D. St Paul and his fellow workers are then positioned in the culture, amid those monuments. The book gathers together what is known of the Church in Ephesus under St Paul and after his martyrdom.
Deslee Campbell, a former teacher of modern history, who worked in the field of educational psychology and
counselling.
She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New South Wales, a Diploma in Education from the University of Sydney, and a Graduate Diploma in School Counselling from U.W.S/Nepean.
She was has a Masters degree fromMacquarie University in early Christian Studies and a Phd from Sydney University.
Deslee has visited Israel nine times, the first being in January 1970.
During Passover 1990 Deslee was one of three
Australians to visit the U.S.S.R.
Since 1988 Deslee, and her late husband John, .they lived with their three sons and their adopted daughter in Sydney
and attend a local Anglican Church in Sydney,
Her published works include the sequel novel, Love is a Journey, which follows Karen Evan's career as a nurse.
With her son, Rev. Justin Campbell, she has co-authored a major 2-volume work in the mini-series Synagogue and
