He is a graduate of Stanford University and has held a number of national, state and local offices with the American Society Civil Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers and Architectural Engineering Institute. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Architectural Engineering Institute, and the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (U.K.).
