Majid Fakhry is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the American University of Beirut and has previously held posts at universities in the Middle East and the U.S., including Associate Professor at Georgetown University. His many publications include Ethical Theories in Islam, Philosophy, Dogma, and the Impact of Greek Thought in Islam and A History of Islamic Philosophy. He was born in Lebanon and now lives in the United States.
