Elia Barceló (Elda, Alicante, 1957). Se la considera una de las escritoras más versátiles de la narrativa española y es una de las autoras de mayor prestigio en el ámbito del fantástico y la ciencia ficción. Ha publicado más de treinta novelas y unos noventa relatos, tanto en España como en el extranjero. Premiada en numerosas ocasiones, ha sido traducida a veintidós idiomas con una enorme acogida entre el público y la crítica. Es autora de obras de gran éxito como El color del silencio, El secreto del orfebre, Las largas sombras, El eco de la piel, La noche de plata y Disfraces terribles. Durante muchos años fue profesora de Estudios Hispánicos en la Universidad de Innsbruck, en Austria. Ahora se dedica a la escritura a tiempo completo.
