American Political Eras: In Cartoons By Chappie - Paperback

"Jeff Chapman has either the gift or curse of being able to look at what's happening around him and find the odd angle that makes it funny. It's an offbeat, slightly esoteric humor, which means sometimes the rest of us don't immediately get it. Usually if you think awhile, you can figure it out, which makes the humor quite a bit more rewarding than, say, a fart joke that every 12-year-old immediately understands. You also have to be willing to put up with quite a bit of Richard Nixon, but for me that makes it even funnier. On that level, Chappie was meta before meta was cool."‒Ned Seaton: Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, The Manhattan Mercury www.themercury.com

Spanning from America's very beginning to present day, Jeffrey "Chappie" Chapman's American Political Eras is a fascinating look into politics through pencil-and-ink cartoons. Having published his cartoons in his local papers, now Chapman brings his vast number of cartoons together into one collection. Humorous and educational, Chapman conveys the most prominent moments in American political history through hand-drawn art, capturing the tumultuous, the chaotic, and the strange occurrences of our past and present.
