I have always loved to write. I wrote my first book at thirteen years old. I like to think I've gotten better since then. I don't have any more dogs falling out of airplanes and now the right people falling love with each other, anyway. When I originally wrote this in 2000 as a thesis project, my advisor told me I would have to age my characters up or down, because nobody wanted to read about people in their 20s. After numerous rejections (indie publishing then wasn't what it is now), I concluded he was right, and set it aside. Turns out I was just about a decade ahead of the times! New adult is totally a thing now! Right?
I never quite gave up on the dream of being a writer, I kept at it but never did anything with it. Thanks to encouragement from some author friends, I decided to pull my manuscript out, dust it off, and here we are.
I live in Oklahoma with my partner and our four children, three dogs, a turtle, and several bugs (don't ask). By day I help keep Oklahoma's drinking water safe, by night I write books. In my spare time I like to knit, read, and watch baking shows.
