Aubrey, an unapologetic transwoman, invites her readers to journey with her as she unpacks the joy, sorrow, and growth that she has experienced in her first year and a half of transition. In this collection of poems, Aubrey offers an intimate look into the hope and peace that can be found in living out one's truth in the world, but also the pain and loss that can accompany it. This book offers hope not only to those who have transitioned or are considering it but to anyone that's chosen to break from societal expectations of love, beauty, gender, and identity.

"To all the eggs,

Cracked and uncracked

May you find hope in these words.

May you see through the nouns and the verbs.

May you live your truth in confidence.

I see you; I promise.

All My Love,

Aubrey"

Jones, Aubrey J.: - Aubrey is a mother of two, aspiring coffee master, certified spiritual coach, and now, an author. Prior to starting her transition in 2021, Aubrey worked as a full-time youth pastor for 11 years after attending Eastern University to study youth ministry. She left the church and organized religion at the end of 2020 during a global pandemic, 21 years after "giving her life to Christ." Many of the poems you find in this book are the result of her processing the trauma she experienced with the church and the lasting impact it's had on her. Aubrey hopes that her readers transgender and cisgender alike can see themselves in the poems she's penned. More than anything, she wishes that her experience in leaving Christianity and living her truth will give hope to people in the LGBTQIA+ community. That they know that they are not alone. When Aubrey is not momming or tasting coffees with her coworkers, she spends her time writing, playing with her dog Roscoe, foraging for wild mushrooms, and skating for the Rockstar Roller Derby team out of Pottstown, PA who have been an incredible source of love and support over the last year.
