Adventures With God: How He Pursued Me When I Ran - Paperback

What happens when a life built on pleasure, control, and self-reliance begins to unravel? In this honest and redemptive memoir, Elena Grace Onstad shares her own life experiences-moving from knowing about God to truly knowing Him. Raised in church but burdened by shame after failure, she chased freedom in all the wrong places, convinced she was living the "good life." God and heaven were not on her radar; she was living for the moment, unaware that what felt like freedom was slowly emptying her soul. Everything changed when one unexpected question stopped her in her tracks: "Do you know where your soul is going to go when you die?" Though she didn't realize it at the time, Elena had been running from God. What she later discovered was that God was relentlessly-and lovingly-chasing her. Instead of condemnation, she encountered grace, and a new life more meaningful and exciting than she could have imagined. That transformation did not happen overnight. It was a struggle marked by doubt, skepticism, and deep feelings of unworthiness. Though she had attended Sunday school as a child, she questioned whether the Bible could be trusted and believed she was no longer fit for the Kingdom of God. Yet through discipline, restoration, and persistent grace, God revealed Himself as knowable, trustworthy, and faithful.
