Jan's love for animals was evident, as she frequently brought home animals and dreamed of living on a ranch one day. She married her dream man, Sam, and together they had two daughters and a son. Despite her affinity for technology, she surprised everyone by pursuing a career in teaching. She worked tirelessly to obtain a degree in elementary and special education while caring for her family.
