The dad leaves to live with his girlfriend, but when the mum passes, he is back to try and evict Daniel and his sister from the family home and then tries to sell it under their nose.
While facing a court battle, Daniel's love life is shredded with broken romances. He gets close to Rachel, but that doesn't run smoothly due to a baby that turns out not to be his.
The reader will easily feel sympathy towards Daniel with his feelings stretched to a limit.
The later years are kinder to him with marriage and children, but again his life is thrown into turmoil with a serious family illness.

Peter King has always been interested in writing. He decided to take his interest further by writing a book during COVID lockdown from his job as a teaching assistant at a primary school.
Being a father and a grandfather, this has given him plenty of experiences that he has been able to build into his various books.
Prior to working in a school, he trained as a designer draughtsman, working on domestic and industrial controls. Another passion of his is sport, and he is a keen badminton player and golfer. He also enjoys fishing and following football and cricket.
He likes to spend as much time with his children and grandchildren who share his same interests.
