In addition to numerous articles and reviews, he has written two books about American history and culture. In 2026, his two new books--A Nation's Birth and A Nation's Heritage--about the American Revolution and historic sites were published. Alper has been an author / editor of Arts Magazine and has worked in major New York City art galleries. He has been awarded a Residency at the prestigious American Academy in Rome. He also has written and narrated a radio series for WGBH-Boston. Alper divides his time between New York City and Pennsylvania.
