A Little Off Key features fifty original songs written over a period of thirty-plus years. The songs are written from several perspectives including a father, a son, and a doctor. The songs in A Little Off Key are about life, loss, luck, loneliness, dogs, cats, birds and even goldfish. And of course, relationships . . . and religion . . . and evolution . . . and creation . . . and eternity . . . and family . . . and getting old . . . and . . . lots of other stuff.
Author Brian Elliott has never been a good enough singer or guitar player to be recruited by another band-so he started his own. The Little Off Key Band (motto: "We may not be very good, but at least we don't know many songs.") can be found playing for free, mostly at animal rescue centers and retirement homes.
Brian Elliott was born at a very early age a long time ago. He retired a few years back after forty-five years of "doctoring", specializing in internal medicine and infectious diseases (like Dr. House on the TV show House, MD). He saw and learned a lot during that time, and he would occasionally write stuff down and save it. Eventually he began to add melodies to the words and jiggle things around until-VOILA!-a song would appear. Lately Brian has had lots of free time to spruce the songs up and organize them into a legacy book. But even though it's more for legacy than profit, he would like you to buy it anyway. His new book, A Little Off Key, is dedicated with love to his sons, Erik and Corky.
