From the first day, the Blantyre missionaries preached and practiced a wholisitc gospel, and wholisite education was a major part of it, long before the government ever took interest. This book traces it all, from village schools to students being sent to Lovedale or Scotland for advanced training, from Janet Beck's school for her daughters and granddaughters to today's Blantyre Synod University, and from the wholistic education (academic and professional) to the time when government decided to abolish that.
