"An inspiring, at times funny, and at times heartbreaking read." -Iowa Governor Terry Branstad and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds A marathon a day, every day, for 40 days. 40 Days is a brutally honest and inspiring story about Steve's historic 40-day, 1,037-mile run around Lake Michigan. Averaging a marathon a day, every day, Steve shares his account of the challenges, both mental and physical, that tried their best to stop him from completing his historic lap. Steve's is also a story of dedication and determination, love and loss, and living in the moment. And most importantly, it's an amazing story of what can happen when you push yourself further than you ever thought was possible.

Steve Cannon runs. He fat bikes, kayaks, and skis. He wouldn't call himself a runner, biker, kayaker, or skier, however. He would most likely refer to himself as an adventurer. In 2018, Steve completed his greatest challenge to date: The Iditarod Trail Invitational 350 in Alaska-one of the top ten extreme ultra-endurance races in the world. He has run nearly 100 marathons and has taken on the world's longest kayak race: The Yukon River Quest. This adventure would become the story for Steve's second book "Upside Down in the Yukon River" (2018). His adventures have raised nearly $700,000 for Livestrong, Camp Kesem, and Above and Beyond Cancer.
