Pull up to a sunlit suburb where four kids on BMX bikes ride out from between split-level houses. Then into a fitness club where a woman lifts dumbbells, a man jumps rope, and another woman pedals a stationary bike.

The pages keep moving. A retro-futurist cityscape with the Chrysler Building piercing a starfield, a flying saucer drifting past, three streamlined cars on a geometric grid. A roller disco at twilight, mirrored ball spinning over teenagers in striped tube socks. A brick wall tagged with graffiti behind a massive boombox, dual cassette decks loaded, smiley faces and crowns spray-painted around it. A man in mirrored sunglasses walking out of a fireball, debris and twisted metal behind him.

Wander through the day. A high school hallway lined with metal lockers, students at the bell, a wall clock above the corridor. An alien moon rising behind two spacesuited astronauts, a UFO and a domed colony on the ridge. A second fitness studio with weights, headbands, and aerobics in full swing. A glam rock band of four with feathered hair, sunglasses, and patterned leather jackets. A loaded minivan rolling west under saguaros and red mountains, luggage strapped on the roof.

Keep going. A bowling alley where a couple holds their balls beside the pins, the lane catching neon. A music studio crowded with synthesizers, reel-to-reel tape, turntables, and a planet poster on the wall. A living room set up around a CRT, VCR, and bowl of popcorn, a movie poster bright on the wall behind. A drive-in theater at night with a convertible parked in front of a giant screen, a snack bar glowing under a full moon. A rooftop party with a couple talking by neon signs and string lights. A woman jumping a rooftop gap as helicopters circle the skyline. The bridge of a starship with three command chairs facing a viewscreen of a nebula. A boy mid-jump while a girl photographs the action across rooftops. A lakeside cottage and a rowboat at a quiet dock among pines. A neon mall food court with arcade signage, pizza, and burger stalls. And to close, a candy-red convertible Mustang on a beach road at sunset with palm trees lining the shoulder.

There's a reason coloring sticks around. It gives a busy mind somewhere to land, and in this case that somewhere is the chrome on a Mustang or the pixelated screen of a stand-up cabinet.
