New Year 1979, Cliff Jones, a few years out of college, is making his way in the world, with a career, apartment, girl friend and mellow life style. Suddenly, people and events from his hard-partying past come back to haunt him. His old friends aren't who he thought they were, and Cliff's life is in danger. A government agency blackmails him into working for them. Cliff's girlfriend confesses that she has a secret life she had been hiding from him. Cliff has a series of adventures and misadventures at various locations around Los Angeles, and when everything converges in a final life-threatening crisis, he rises to the occasion. He achieves the goals he was working toward, but doesn't realize the price he will pay until the end.
