A Poor Richard's Almanack for the new millennium, Jeffrey Baker's 1,000 Pearls of Wisdom epigrammatically illuminates the sublime, the ridiculous, and the mundane in human nature. Baker mines existential gold with his insight and polished turns of phrase: this anthology of witty, pithy poems will have you, by turns, nodding in rueful agreement and shaking with mirth.

Jeffrey Baker was a student for more than thirty-five years of the late, world-renowned Indian philosopher Sri Chinmoy, who named him Kalatit (Kal, time; atit, beyond). Called "our preeminent humorist" by his teacher, Jeffrey was a frequent contributor to publications in his spiritual community and elsewhere. A card-carrying Baby Boomer, he attended the Woodstock Festival, performed in various rock-and-roll ensembles, and has a degree in ecology from The University of Connecticut, the state in which he grew up. After college, he was a gardener for the Rockefellers in Pocantico Hills, New York, and later served as "the piano tuner to the stars" in New York City, working with artists such as Billy Joel, Chick Corea, and Andre Previn. He has composed more than one hundred musical works in the classical as well as the theatrical genres. His opera comique, Psyche, is currently in development in New York City. His album of chamber music, The Music of the Zodiac, has had more than 40,000 downloads-for which, he would like to point out, he has not received one red cent! His recent philosophical treatise, Eat my Dust, Martin Luther, is also available as an ebook on Amazon and in paperback from Createspace.
